Colin Whaley, MD MSc

Internal Medicine Resident Physician, University of Toronto

Hi, I'm Colin!
I'm an Internal Medicine resident physician at the University of Toronto, and aspiring Respirologist. I earned my MD from McMaster University, and graduated with an MSc in Pharmacy from the University of Waterloo. I have a number of academic interests, including health services research, medical education and medical school admissions, developing point-of-care clinical information tools.
I’ve created LungAcademy.com to help aspiring respirology trainees learn core pulmonary medicine content, with explanations of questions asked on history, physical exam findings, and many tools to use in clinic or at the bedside. I’m very interested in how AI can be used to improve care and efficiency, and I’ve built a prednisone taper calculator and bronchoscopy diagram creator using AI coding tools.
I have a longstanding interest in medical school admissions, and have mentored applicants for more than half a decade. To address barriers in access to admissions information, I’ve written a book on published by Brush Education in 2026, which will provide exhaustive details on the admissions process. Based on work I did as an undergrad, I've also given a TEDx talk on the value of helping older adults use technology.
If we share any interests, please don't hesitate to get in touch
